Jameela, the 5-month-old baby gorilla, has captured the hearts of many with her undeniable adorableness. Born into uncertainty with her mother at the Fort Worth Zoo, Jameela found her family with the loving embrace of her surrogate mother, Freddy. Their heartwarming bond is a testament to the resilience and compassion found within the animal kingdom. Jameela's playful antics and innocent expressions showcase the beauty of newfound hope and belonging in the wild. Witnessing this special relationship unfold brings a renewed sense of wonder and appreciation for the diverse connections that exist in nature.
Baby Saki Monkey
A Saki monkey was born at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo this summer, and it might be one of the cutest things you have ever seen. These adorable primates are known for their long, fluffy tails and playful antics. The new addition has been captivating audiences with its energetic personality and curious nature. As the mama Saki monkey swings from branch to branch in its habitat, zoo-goers of all ages can't help but smile while she carries this little baby on her chest.

Brecksville Reservation in the Fall
Brecksville Reservation's Chippewa Creek Gorge transforms into a stunning display of vibrant colors in the fall, with trees ablaze in shades of red, yellow, and orange. The winding trails offer breathtaking views of the cascading waterfalls and rugged rock formations, making it a popular destination for hikers. Bask in the serene beauty of the autumn landscape while exploring the hidden gems tucked away in this natural river-cut.
Euclid Creek in the Cleveland Metroparks
Euclid Creek Reservation is undeniably a gem within the Cleveland Metroparks, offering a picturesque setting that captivates visitors, especially during the fall season. The beauty captured in the photos taken there resonates deeply with many, evoking a sense of tranquility and admiration. My personal connection to the forest runs deep. My mom grew up just down the street from here and we would always take a drive through the forest when we would visit as kids. The allure of the forested landscape is intertwined with cherished memories, creating a profound and sentimental bond that adds another layer of significance to this natural haven.
The Great Falls of Tinker's Creek
Autumn weather at the Great Falls of Tinker's Creek brings a crispness to the air that hints at the impending cold of winter. The vibrant hues of the changing leaves provide a vivid backdrop to the rushing waters of the falls, creating a striking contrast against the gray rocks and the white foam of the cascading water. Visitors can feel the chill in the breeze as they take in the breathtaking scenery, a reminder of the transitory nature of the season. The sound of the rushing water reverberates through the canyon, a constant reminder of the power and beauty of nature. As the daylight wanes and shadows lengthen
Mill Creek Falls
Mill Creek Falls is the tallest waterfall in Cuyahoga County. Following the largest rainfall in Cleveland in 2023, the pictures capture the falls in their full grandeur, showcasing the power and beauty of nature in this urban setting.
Newborn Gorilla at the Zoo
A new baby girl gorilla named Kunda has been born at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo! The arrival of Kunda is a significant addition to the gorilla family at the zoo, showcasing the beauty and wonder of these magnificent creatures. This is the second gorilla born at CMZ and she is the younger sister of Kayembe who was born in October of 2021.
Photos of Kunda and the gorilla troop capture the gentle nature and powerful presence of these animals. Tender moments between mother and baby highlight the complexities of gorilla relationships and the importance of conservation efforts to protect their habitat.
The birth of Kunda serves as a reminder of the continuing need to safeguard gorillas and their natural environment. These captivating creatures represent a vital part of our world's biodiversity, deserving of admiration and respect for their unique qualities and contributions to the ecosystem.
Rainforest Flowers at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo
The flowers I photographed displayed a mesmerizing array of colors, each petal bursting with vibrant hues that seemed to dance in the sunlight. The rich reds, golden yellows, and delicate pinks created a striking contrast against the backdrop of lush green foliage at The Rainforest
One particular flower, a striking pink and purple orchid, stood out among the rest with its intense color and intricate patterns. Its vivid hue seemed to captivate the eye, drawing attention from every angle.
Recently, it was revealed that this same orchid is now featured in a prominent art space with the likes of the renowned artist Andy Warhol. The flower's vivid colors and natural beauty have been immortalized in Warhol's colorful style, transforming it into a symbol of art and nature intertwined.
Jeni's Ice Cream - Chagin Falls Shop
I definitely scream for ICE CREAM! I had the pleasure of working with Jeni’s Ice Cream in early February to capture their Chagrin Falls shop. Do you know how hard it is to be around some of the best ice cream on the planet and not sample all the flavors? I had to limit myself to about six for fear they would kick me out!
It was a great day with some friendly faces (how can you not be happy inside an ice cream shop?) and the cold didn’t keep the door from constantly swinging open with new patrons.
Dough Ball Whiskey Summer Photoshoot
In the summer of 2022 I got to work with my talented fried Robby Parris of Thursday Video. He is a killer creative director and brought me on a few trips in the summer. It was great working with him and MPL Brands for this photoshoot featuring their latest product, Dough Ball Whiskey.
I was executive producer, first shooter, assistant creative director, location & talent scout for the photo shoot.
Bones Coffee Company - Caramel Apple
When you try a coffee that is just so dang good, you have to create a photoshoot for it! I enjoy flavored coffees especially when the weather starts to turn. Bones Coffee makes a killer caramel apple flavored roast that is just to die for. A perfect balance of coffee, caramel, and apple that really puts the nail in the coffin.
I designed a set in my dining room as the overcast light from outside helped fill the room with soft, white light. from there I used a flashing orange and red light to create a few different looks where I capture all my images. I left the setup primarily the same and changed my focus a few times to get a few dynamic shots of the skulls, coffee, and caramel apple blend. Enjoy - and go pick up a sample pack of this and S’morey Time from Bones!
Lekko Coffee in Ohio City / Hingetown
Over the summer I spent some time learning a lot about coffee. I became friends with a guy named Matt Ashton who is one of the most knowledgable coffee roasters in Cleveland. Matt knows how to properly roast beans to get the best flavor out of them. He knows what region to buy from and what time of year to get the harvest. Caffeine is the life force in his blood.
When I met Matt he was in the plans to build his shop, Lekko Coffee, which is now open! He and his wife Laura, who I believe designed most of the shop (nice work marrying an architect!) own this little corner of West 26th and Detroit. This Ohio City gem is quickly becoming a near-west-side favorite. Maybe you don’t live in Cleveland, well you can still purchase his beans and get them shipped to your house!
Matt was kind enough to show me around the shop right before it opened and these are the photos I captured for him.
If you are in the area and need your morning jumpstart, head to Lekko and get fueled up!
Randall Park Mall
Back in February of 2015 I thought I would try to be all cool and become an abandoned urbex type photographer. Turns out that it is super dangerous and sketchy. Nonetheless, I wanted to share some photos I took of Randall Park Mall. Once the biggest shopping mall in America (I have read that a few times but the jury is still out on the absolute fact) this now-defunct retail center is an Amazon distribution warehouse.
This was one of the first places I had ever photographed with a really great camera - the Canon Mark iii. I note this because the images are just ok. I hadn’t learned a whole lot about proper framing, subject, lighting, ISO, etc. I could have taken all these with my current iPhone XR. It is not always about the equipment, but apply what you learn along the way.
Anyway, I enjoy the photos because it shows me how far I have come in a handful of years. It was also just a cool space to see completely void of the humanity that once thrived inside.
The Flats in Cleveland
Cleveland’s West Bank of the Flats has many stories. Stories that date back before I was able to safely go there. A lot of the remnants of the area are still there, and hopefully, soon some new development revitalizes these broken-down parking lots. Until then, I will capture what’s left and throw my editing style on it to make it look alive again.
Full Tang Knife
My brand new butcher’s knife! A sleek, razor sharp edge that is backed up with the force of heavy metal to make a clean cut. I have this pile of oak and cherry wood that has been waiting for the axe since last summer and knew it would be a great backdrop for some rugged photos of the new blade.
The size alone will make your eyes bug out, but knowing the force is what really sells the shank. The tanned leather carrying case acts as a protective glove for the knife, but more so to protect the chef behind it.
This knife is perfect for bone cutting, and less efficient for thinly filleting.
Snowy Day Kitchen Product Shots
A snowy cold day in February leads to snapping some product shots with your new camera lens. Simplicity was the key on these shots. Also, the caramel macchiato brownies I made were amazing!
@clegram on Instagram
The man behind the lens. Years ago my buddy Nick and I started a Cleveland themed Instagram account. It took off in the early days and I use it to showcase all my favorite spots around the city. With nearly 30,000 followers, @clegram has it all!

West End Tavern Mug Product Photos
The best part of waking up is local coffee in your cup! The West End isn’t a coffee bar but they have one of my favorite logos in Cleveland and a top notch brunch to boot!
